The Austin Police Retirement System delivered an investment return of 11.50%, net of fees, for calendar year 2023, exceeding the System’s investment return assumption of 7.25%. These gains raised the total assets of the System to over $1.015 billion. The 2023 returns also raised the System’s 5-Year investment return average to 9.40%.

For the first time in APRS history, the Austin Police Retirement System received the Government Finance Officers Association’s (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for their 2022 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report!

On January 17, 2024, the Austin Police Retirement System Board of Trustees appointed Michael Burgeson and Shelly Holmstrom to serve as Trustees on the Board of Trustees. 

The Austin Police Retirement System will be hosting a pre-retirement seminar on February 7, 2024. This seminar is designed to provide an overview of the Austin Police Retirement System, the retirement process, and address various other topics as they relate to a member’s retirement.

Effective January 1, 2024, there will be two (2) openings on the Austin Police Retirement System Board of Trustees for the positions elected from the active membership of the System.
