Pursuant to state law, on January 17, 2024, the Austin Police Retirement System Board of Trustees met to fill the two vacancies on the Board of Trustees for the position of Active Member Trustee. The Board appointed the following two active members to fill the vacancies:
Michael Burgeson
Shelly Holmstrom
They will be sworn in and take their Oaths of Office at the next regularly scheduled board meeting on February 21, 2024. Shelly Holmstrom will fill the vacancy with the term expiring in 2027 while Michael Burgeson will fill the vacancy with the term expiring in 2025. The term length determination was made through a publicly held random drawing by the Board of Trustees.
